Yea, I'm pretty sure all you need is a passport. I went to Germany, but as a group military trip, and they said they just need to see our passport's, but our "passports" were considered just our military id's and orders.... But yea, I don't think you need a visa, unless you're going to stay there for a while.

You do need a visa to enter Austraila, even for the day.  You can get it through the cruise line, airline or your travel agent.  it is done electronically and is about $20 last I checked.
