  1. Yes.

A sound card is the piece in the computer that tells the speakers what sounds to make.

Without speakers you can't hear anything, without a sound card there is nothing to hear.

Most computers come with a sound card as part of the mother board. Look around, and if you see a small round green hole (usually next to a pink and blue one too) then you have a sound card, and can plug your speakers into the green hole.

  2. Well basically if you have a sound card for your computer, it basically means that your computer is able to make sounds. You will not be able to hear any sound from your computer unless you hook up speakers. So yes, if you want to enjoy a computer with sound, you would need speakers. However, if you have a sound card, it doesn't mean you need speakers. I guess it just depends on your preference!

  3. A sound card ONLY converts digitial 1's and 0's into analog sound that you can hear once they are sent to something that can out but analog!

Thus, a sound card will need something to output the information (a speaker).

  4. no not at all...it's magical

  5. If you want to have sound (without having to use a headset), then yes you need speakers with your sound card.
