Do you need the internet to download itunes?

I just got a laptop, no internet on it and I want to download itunes do I need the internet? Also, can I transfer songs from another itunes library to my laptop?

Yes and yes.  If you don't have internet at home, just go to Panera bread or somewhere with free WiFi.

Specifically, I believe Apple allows you to authorize up to five computers on the same iTunes account.

Yes, iTunes won't work without an internet connection.  A high speed connection is recommended.  

You can't transfer songs from another iTunes library unless the songs are free of DRM.

when you DOWNLOAD it means you need the iunternet so yes

go have a cup of coffee if u see a cafe with "free wifi" support. most laptops these days have wifi.
