  1. you dont have to be a total genius to understand math

  2. No, of course not. I believe anyone has the capability to understand anything they put their mind to.

    But...

    a) It does require effort, and a desire to learn it. You can't absorb anything you're not even vaguely interested in. You can MEMORISE it, but learning is something different

    b) It does depend greatly on your learning style. If you're someone who doesn't learn well by listening to a teacher (which is my problem too), then you may have better luck in reading up on it so you can take it in at your own pace.

Oh, and start off simple! :) All the best

  3. No..you just have to pay attention :)..and work hard

  4. Check out the book "The Math Instinct: Why You're a Mathematical Genius (Along with Lobsters, Birds, Cats, and Dogs)" by Keith Devlin.

    Dogs know Calculus!

Seriously though,  math is a systematic, step by step process.  Each new piece of information builds on what you have learned before.  If you don't understand something, ask questions, investigate and think until you do.  Your teacher can help, and there are lots of tutors around.

Anybody can do math.  Just like any other skill, it just takes practice.
