Do you need to be connected to the internet all the time to use your ipod touch?

I have been considering getting an ipod touch, and i'm pretty sure that you dont need to be connected 24/7 to just listen to music... but just in case i thought i would check

nope, only for the itunes/app stop(in 2.0) and for safari

you need internet connection for itunes, app store, weather, stocks, safari, maps, and i think youtube. everything else (i think) does not need internet connection.
