Do you need to be good at math and science to become an OB/GYN?

im 17 and im a senior in high school i am thinking about being an OB/GYN but i know im not sure how i want to now how great does one have to be at math and science, what courses to take in college, and what schools are the best for this type of career???

  1. If you're having a problem with math and science I doubt that you could get through Med school.

You're looking at 4 years of college (major in whatever you want while taking the pre-med courses in math, biology, chemistry, and physics), 4 years of medical school (science courses) and at least 3 years of residency before you can get a job as an OB/GYN.  You need to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA in college to have a shot at medical school, so yes, you need to be good at math and science.  Pretty much every 4 year college and university offers pre-med courses (it's not a major), so go wherever you want.

  4. Yes!  Most of your college courses will consist of math and science class.
