Do you need to blink while underwater?

Question

My question to any swimmers out there, if you open your eyes under the water, do you still need to blink? I've always wondered. I'm a horrible swimmer.

it depends on if u swim w/ goggles or not. i do, so i blink. but if u dont use goggles, then dont blink unless u wnat an infection. so yea. just wear goggles if u dont swim well. u can see better then.

i blink all the time with or without goggles and I've never gotten an infection.  i would say it depends on if you keep your eyes open or not if you do then you do need to blink.

Blinking is utterly unnecessary while participating in the act of swimming. Trust me, if you try doing that you'll probably get your eye infected.
