Do you need to do a Part 135 Checkride to act as PIC on VFR charters?

I know that there's a IFR-PIC checkride, but I haven't seen anything about VFR-only.

  2. Yes, you will need to pass a 135.293 and 135.299 regardless.  Being 'VFR only' you can skip the 135.297 ride.  Look these up in the regs for details, as they encompass all 135 operations.

  3. Yes, there is a checkride.

    If your company has check airmen, then you can take it with them.

    If you are in a one-pilot operation, you will take it with the local FSDO.
