Swipe purchases do not require a pin.

I haven't shopped much at self-checkout counters but I'm positive swipe purchases are pin-less transactions.

After all, that's the beauty of credits cards.

Only cash advances need a pin.

Credit transactions require a signature and Debit requires a pin.....depends on what you use..

No. Usually you do have to enter your zip code though. The only time you enter your pin number is with a debit card

debit = pin

cash = please take your change and your reciept; don't forget your bills below the scanner
