  1. yes

  2. Yes, to make sure you keep your skills honed.

  3. There's not really a certain amount but you need to stay current. It's recommended that you go up with an instructer once a year and review. This makes you a better pilot. To carry passenger though you need to have made 3 takeoffs and landings withing the last 90 days. If you're flying them at night those landings had to be at night. And it has to be in the same aircraft. Instrument rating currency gets more complicated.

  4. Other than Cherokee where did you guys get your information. You don't even know do you? Jeez people, why do you guess here.

Nonononononono. Your certificate is valid for life. Certain currency requirements mostly regarding take offs and landings every ninety days and some recent instrument time is required to maintain currency and a BFR or some other applicable check every two years but no, your ticket is always valid until revoked or surrendered.

  5. Yes.

It varies by state. I would check with the FAA website to make a determination.

  6. License is valid for life but you must be qualified and maintain currency in 'Type', unless that's also changed in the past 30 years.  You must be current in type, which does expire.  If your logbook shows period of inactivity you must requalify in type.  With that you only need check ride to qualify in additional type of the same catagory.

  7. A private pilot needs only meet the following requirements to fly small planes for which a type rating is not required:

    1) To carry passengers, you must have logged three takeoffs and landings in the past 90 days. (They may have to be at night or to a full stop depending on various circumstances.)

    2) You must have had a BFR (or something that counts as a BFR) in the past two years. This is basically a checkout with a certified flight instructor to make sure that you can still fly and that you have kept up with any changes in the regulations.

    3) You must have a valid third class medical certificate. These are valid for either three years or two years depending on your age. You need only pass a very simple physical exam. This makes sure you are in good health and can still see.

    4) If you have an instrument rating and wish to fly IFR, you must meet recency requirements for that rating.

Technically, the license itself is valid for the rest of your life. However, it may not be the only requirement to exercise a particular privilege.

  8. wow......

Your Pilots certificate is valid for life, with no expiration date.

To exercise the privileges of it you must...

posses a valid faa medical cert, and

every two years obtain a  flight review (unless you obtain a new rating , the the clock starts again.)

This is all that is necessary to legally fly.

you could, in theory, obtain a flight flight review to day and not fly for on year and 11 mos and still be legal to fly.

There is a BIG difference in whats legal and what is safe.

Piloting skills deteriorate very quickly, there for it is prudent to either stay current, or grab a flight instructor for some "get rid of the rust" flight time.

  9. License is valid for life.

However, you do need to keep at least a Third-Class Medical Certificate. And a Valid Gov. Photo ID.

Other than that you need 3 Takeoffs and Landings to carry Passengers
