  1. Dismissed = no offense to expunge

  2. Hello Mike. Expungement means to erase the arrest and conviction of a specified crime. Since your case was dismissed, you literally have nothing to expunge.

What you will have now is an arrest record. Technicallly, this can hurt you. Employers only ask about convictions, not arrests.

Worst case scenaruio is you can retain an attorney and see if your jurisdiction allows for sealing of arrest records.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you

  3. Sorry but all of you are dead wrong.  Just because the charge was dismissed, it will still show up on your record via NCIC (your rap sheet which shoes anything and everything you have been arrested for) including the disposition (the outcome) of the case.  It will always be there and show that dismissed disposition unless you get it expunged, then it will not show up at all, as if you were never arrested for that particular charge.

  4. It's supposed to confuse you.
