  1. The trailer does not need to be inspected, but does need to be registered.  That is, if it is a commercialy manufactured titled boat trailer.

    In other words, If you have a trailer with a title, you are all set, just register and pay for the plate and registrtion.

    If you made it yourself, you need to get it insured and titled.

  3. To answer your question truthfully , yes you are SUPPOSED TO have it inspected yearly just like a car/truck. But the police usually don't bother checking for it. So you can bypass that pretty much. I know here in Louisiana you are suppose to have it inspected yearly but I don't bother with it. And it doesn't matter wether or not the trailer has brakes or not.
