no, you can use your existing landline...! just buy a socket-doppler, its like 2-3 dollar....so just put the phone in one socket and the fax machine in the other socket....! just remember....you gotta switch the fax to "auto" when you want to fax....

Just plug your fax machine into your landline and away you go. Only trouble is whilst your faxing your landline is engaged. You cant use both at the same time.

Just buy a socket doubler, a few quid from maplins (if there isnt one in your fax machine box) thats it really.

If you have a fax modem on your PC, then you can also use that, go to www.download.com, in the search bar, enter fax, and away you go, you can also print if you need to, its very easy to do.

it depends on ur situation. if ur going to use the fax for a business then i might be better for u to get a fax-line. it won't tie-up ur voice-line. but if ur not going to be a heavy user; then there r lots of all-in-ones; that u can use. I've been using HP's for some years now, and I've been very happy with them. the thing i like bout the hps'; in the set-up, it ask u the right questions. like if ur using a shared land-line; so it auto sets up the fax machine. it will listen in on all calls; when it hears the fax tones, it takes over the call to receive the fax; it works great.
