Do you need to interview if you are applying for a university in the USA?

I know you have to interview for Oxbridge in England, but what about the states, eg Harvard, Brown etc?

  1. Each university is different. For the two which you mentioned, Harvard, they encourage international applicants to have an admissions interview when and where it is possible. They have interviewers abroad are normally graduates of the College who volunteer their assistance. Except in the case of students applying from schools in the United Kingdom and Canada, applicants must initiate contact with an interviewer.

    Brown University does not require interviews.
