Do you need to make an account to use Demonoid.com?

what the purpose of making an account? I know people are seeking invitation codes, but I get results when I search.

A lot of people ask for invitation codes on this site, and some usually end up getting reported. If you want to download torrents or anything older than a week or so, you have to be a registered user. Non registered users can only search and download the newer, a week or less, torrents. The thing that keeps making people ask for codes is how Demonoid registration opens and closes. It's only open for a short time and you have to catch it when it happens. All other places have registration open at all times, but not Demonoid.

Members can download any torrent file in Demonoid's database. Unregistered members, however, are only able to download some of the newer torrent files, which eventually become unavailable as they become older.

You won't be able to actually download any torrents unless you sign in. You get search results but if you actually try to download anything it'll tell you only registered users can download.
