  1. yes a friend of mine is almost done with his biochemical engineering program and he had to take both cell biology and microbiology. in my school you will also have to take general biology over 2 semesters as a prerequisite, so he had to take that too. I guess you will have to take bio which would make sense in a BIOchemical engineering profession.
