  1. biologically yes, for eggs to hatch, and no for hatcheries as an option of insemination is widely used today for higher productivity, where the eggs are veg.

  2. No, the chicken will lay eggs regardless, if she wants to get two chickens, make sure they're both hens.

  3. so funny

  4. No, the female chicken will lay eggs anyway they just wont be fertile. (ie lay chicks) It will still lay eggs.

  5. she needs a chicken and a ****... yep...

  6. yes

  7. One chicken equals one egg per day if its a very good chicken. Get more than one. It will need companionship. It will not cost any more to provide shelter for 12 than it would one and you could maybe sell excess fresh aggs to the nieghbors. Shoot, get 2 dozen. A rooster would add to the hen yard community and give you something to listen to in the wee hours of the morning.

Your run of the mill chicken will lay eggs in sort of cycles. At some times of the year they will lay more than others. Chickens kept in buildings with light and climate control may lay constantly but after so many eggs the chicken is elimnated and new, more vicarious and prolific egg layer replaces it.

two chickens wont make a chick - you need a rooster to fertilise the chickens egg.

if you want eggs to eat, then just one chicken will suffice. or two chickens will lay twice the amount.

a male chicken is called a rooster or a c**k deary.

listen carefully, ill repeat what i said above in an easy to understand format:

for edible eggs: one chicken will lay eggs.

for chicks: mrs chicken needs a big c**k to fertilise her.
