Do you need wax on a surfboard if you wear booties?

i have got wax on the front of the board where my front foot goes but not on the back, i haven't got it on the back of my board where your back foot goes because i am getting ready to put my tail pad on but it is still being sent.

  2. TBA, I would suggest you just wait until you get your traction pad.

  3. Yes, you need wax. You can wax the tail and use the board now. When your traction pad arrives, you can scrape the tail wax off with a credit card, then use the solvent wipe that comes included with the traction pad.

  4. I don't want to sound stupid, but what are you doing in the mean time? Are you just not surfing while you are waiting for the traction pad? To answer your question, YES. Booties provide a degree of added traction, but you still need some wax where your feet go. Also, if it's cold enough o wear booties, even good cold water wax gets a little hard, so traction is always an issue in cccccold water.
