I just dont show a lot of emotion, I guess or get very exited about ANYTHING. I like the things people get me, and I use them. I appreciate that they took some time to think of me, But They always think I dont like stuff because I dont do backflips and stuff when they give me something. I am just not very animated, I guess. Does this happen to you, or do you go all berzerk over gifts?

  1. I try to be excited, but let's face it, my inlaws CANT Shop. So I try not to make my smile look fake, but try to look excited. I am not animated either, unless I really like something.

  2. I go all berzerk over gifts, and am very animated. I appreciate the time they took to think of me. But there are very few occassion and I get very few gifts these days !!! I really wait to get the gifts.

  3. i don't go bezerk over gifts either.a few words of appreciation, and letting the person see you use the gift works ok.however if you recicle unwanted gifts make sure you don't give it back to the same person!or someone they know.!

  4. I have always had that problem.  I know it has put a strain on some of my relationships because even when I feel something is a fantastic gift I just don't look like I'm excited.  I rarely get emotional about anything.

I always had the feeling that something was wrong with me, or at least extremely different from how most people process the world around them.  It has always been rare for me to make emotional connections with other people.  Only in the last few years have I learned about a condition called Asperger's Syndrome which I think explains an awful lot about how I deal with the world and especialy other people.  The link below has an interesting quiz.  After the quiz it also provided links to several other informative pages.

  5. If they know you well they'll know you don't show your appreciation by doing backflips. If you tell them with a smile that you appreciate the time they took to get a nice present for you, they should get the message.
