  1. It happens every year. It's called supply and demand. More driving happens in the summer time. So come memorial day weekend prices jump!!! Labor day weekend signifies the end of summer time fun and just cruising and the prices drop.

Has nothing to do with the election. IF it was because of the election the prices would drop below 3 dollar. Further more just as the gas prices are dropping in two months time heating costs will skyrocket. Again supply and demand.

  2. It is because the demand is going down. The rest of the would is in recession and we normally use about 22 million gallons a month. But the latest number had us using under 21 million.

  3. it will help prove that all the politics and gas price wars are bullshit and also how come there not losing money now when all the politicians are spending money to travel around the country , makes you wonder why its lower ?  so they can pay cheaper prices to travel around and when whoever is elected be sure it will raise right back up.

  4. I don't think it has anything to do with the election.

Gas prices tend to go up in the summer and down after.

  5. Traditionally, any good economic news would help the party in charge....in this case, therefore, John McCain.  If gas prices are low on Election Day, a lot of anger votes that might otherwise have gone out to vote AGAINST McCain, will probably stay home.

  6. The drop in prices will be spun to help the case of both parties.

Democrats will say that the prices fell because they are the majority in the legislative branch and passed bills aiding the situation that the Republicans refused to.

Republicans will most likely use it to somewhat disarm the attack that under a Republican president, the economy does nothing but fall, saying that the high cost was an unfortunate result of uncontrollable circumstances that are finally resolving themselves.

  7. Happens every election year.  It's call the Rep's play book.
