Do you notice more and more kids are becoming brats ?

Question

I have noticed if you go into a store you usually see at least one kid having a tentram trantrum.

You will also hear kids tell there parents to shut up or be rude.

Ever year at school i notice kids being more disreapectful to teachers and cussing and acting like total brats bc they don't get there way.

It annoys me so much does it annoy you too.

that's because discipline methods have done a full 180 degree change since our parents generation.  Nowadays, it's don't tell your child this.. or that... it will damage their self esteem, don't spank, ask your child why they acted that way, talk to your child about their behaviour etc.  It's become far too soft, now I don't necessarily agree with some of the parenting tactics from my mothers generation, I stand somewhere in between, but I definately think that parents are not asserting themselves enough.  You can see it in the way kids talk to their teachers, parents.

have you ever watched mtv's super sweet 16? those kids get dress that don't cost a $100, but there up in the thousands. this one kid got mad cuz his parents got him a mercedes! he wanted something nicer. can u believe that? my parents won't even get me a car. another kid got 2 cars for his birthday. what does a 16 need 2 cars for? also about the schools, one student came in & called my teacher a bitchhh to her face, and she didn't do anything about and my teacher isn't a bitchhh. kids will talk back to teachers like i've never heard.

Its because more and more, parents are giving into their tantrums, being to lazy to teach them respect and giving them too many choices and priviledges. We are to lead them, not be led by them. We are to be their parents not their best friends, cant be both no matter how hard you try, so yes it is annoying, I never would of talked ot my parents the way I see ome talking nowadays and never would of been ude to authority like a teacher the way some kids are nowadays....whats the world coming to~

Yes I have. You can't spank your kids anymore. When I was a kid, it was yes Sir, and no Ma'am. No talk back ever or else.  Now the kids will tell you, "I'll sue you."   Thankfully, my son is 20 now. We made it through but it was tough.

its cuz parents dont disaplin their kids, or they have a wierd fear of doing it in public. I've so many kids call their moms a B*tch and the mom does nothing or just simply says dont do that

I see this all time. I don't understand some parents. When I through a fit when I was small, my mom left me laying on the floor crying. Once she left my site, I went running behind her and I never did it again! Some parents let their kids say anything to them!
