  1. I use an IKEA poang chair that I already had in my house, I just moved it to the nursery.  It is comfy and has an easy bounce to it.  I have a small pillow for my lower back and I find it works really well with a boppy (if you are going to use one) because I can set it on the arm rests and then my arms don't get tired holding the baby.  I also have the matching footstool and I like that, too.  It is nice to put your feet up in the middle of the night!  The only thing I'm having trouble with is that it's a bit low and the weight of me + baby makes it a little hard on my knees.  So if you get a rocking chair, make sure it's one you can easily get out of while holding a sample 10-lb. weight!

**EDIT** Also, make sure whatever chair you get has head and neck support.  It is tiring to hold your head up in the middle of the night and you will want to rest your head back on something...

    Good luck!

  2. We bought one, and I thought that I'd use it a lot because I work with infants and we use glider rockers to rock most of them...so, naturally I thought I would rock my baby to sleep as well.  Turned out that she hated being rocked!  She doesn't even care for the swing.  She just likes to go to sleep on her own in her bed.  I'd say that for a lot of babies it would be useful but you can usually make do without one.

  3. I only used mine for about a month. I listened to my sister before I went out and bought an expensive one though. I saw one in good shape at a yard sale for cheap. If I'd bought one new at a store it woulda been a big waste of money.

  4. Definetly get one the motion helps settle them for sleeping and a little while later for early feeding.  I wouldn't bother with a moses basket unless money isnt an issue.  Babies grow at a tremendous rate and are soon out of them.

  5. You should get one but you should first get a pilots licence.

  6. You mean a rocking chair glider?  I loved mine.  Used it often for nursing/rocking baby. Even after weaning 'doing rockies' in the glider was part of the bedtime routine for YEARS.

  7. I loved mine when I had my son it was used a lot heck it was so relaxing I fell asleep in it. But this second one I dont have room so I didnt get it.Its up to you either way.Its not a big deal either way

  8. I still live in my glider rocker.  It's in the basement, but when we watch movies we all run for it.  My baby that I bought it for is now 13 years old.

In the middle of the night, you want a comfortable place to sit up while you feed, it's the perfect place.  back and forth is better than

rocking up and down.  Easier on baby and you.
