Do you or do you have a child with spina bifida?

I have an 8 year old with spina bifida. He is a wonderful child but we having issues with his attitude. Does or can this becaused by spina bifida. Have you noticed a change in your child or yourself.

it's generally not cause by teh SB itslef--but it coudl be his ability to deal with it----

you coudl check with a neurologist to see if their is a problem with fluid in teh brain/shunt

does he have any peers--there are wheelchair sports he can join

I do not have a child with Spina Bifida but I am a parent of a child who was born with various Disabilities. I was also born with various Disabilities.

It could be that your child is feeling like that he is "different" from the rest of the children who do not have Disabilities. It would help if he could meet other children with Spina Bifida through a Spina Bifida Peer-To-Peer Support Group.

I don't have, nor does my child have spina bifida, but I know of no reason why any particular attitude might be present in a child with spina bifida on account of his spina bifida alone.

If you were more specific about what the difference in attitude is in your child - perhaps answers could be better.

i have Disabilities i dont have spina bifida maybe you can go to a group for people with Disabilities.  and or spina bifida
