I am doing a Historical research Project on the use of Technology with the Billy Graham crusades, i.e. radio, television and Audio technology used at the meetings.

If you remember seeing Billy Graham on TV, or Hearing him on the radio, or actually going to the meetings, id love to hear from you.

In particular, what was your response to seeing/hearing him and the singers. Did you find that the technology used was effective? Was the television and radio use personal and did you find it effective? Was the amplification at the Meetings sufficient from where you were standing?

All input would be wonderfully appreciated. I will site your Nickname when referencing, but if you would not like this, please indicate so.

  1. I remember hearing Graham when he visited Glasgow and spoke to a large audience in the Kelvin Hall .It was well organised - in Glasgow I think the late Rev Tom Allan was involved . It was from recall pretty professional employing tecniques that were somewhat unusual in those days especially in a Presbyterian West of Scotland setting . It had a fairly big impact with a large number of " dsinners " at each meeting being " saved " How permanent was their conversion seems a matter of debate .

  2. My mum went to Billy Graham Crusade in Sydney when she was 14 which was 1959. She went out to be saved but backed down weeks later when the Minister from local church wanted her to learn more and brought heaps of study for her - she left the church after that.

She says everything was great at the crusade. Choir, lighting, amplification and she was a fair way from the podium. I can't really tell you much more as mum can't think of anything else.
