  1. Actually, Part 13, not Part 61 or Part 93, relates to FAA enforcement actions, which can potentially result in revocation of a certificate.

  2. Naw, I wish I did :) And I know you do too.

  3. Hate to tell you mister inspector(jaguarxj), part 93 applies to  Special air traffic rules and airport traffic patterns. Having

absolutely nothing to do with issuing or revoking a pilots certificate. see part 61(CERTIFICATION: PILOTS, FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS, AND GROUND INSTRUCTORS)

  4. I, like several others here, am qualified as a pilot.

However - the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (same as FAA) "own" my licence.

I am therefore certified under their laws to fly a plane commercially...but as already pointed out, that priviledge is one under the national law - not "owned" by me!

  5. It's an intangible form of eligibility, represented by a public notification, which is the certificate you carry in your wallet.

The physical certificate belongs to the US government.  The eligibility it represents cannot be owned.

  6. There's no such thing as a pilot's 'license'...

Now, if you are referring to the card I have in my wallet, that's called a 'Certificate'.  And no, I don't OWN one, but I do HAVE one.

It's only a 'License' to learn, as my CFI has said many times.

  7. my husband does.

  8. The certificates are titled "Airman's Certificate". It is valid when accompanied by a current "medical Certificate". When the medical expires you may not excercise the priviliges listed on the "Airmans Certificate"  until a new current medical is obtained. Then the "Airmans Certificate" is valid once again.

If you break any of the rules, the FAA can legally hold your certificate until the terms of the final decision are met. The FAA may revoke the cert also. Then all of the training and tests must be repeated after a certain time has lapsed.

The FAA  issues certificates, performs surveillance, educates the cert holders as necessary,   promotes aviation, retests as required and takes  the "Airmans Certificate"  back when necessary!

  9. The FAA owns  it. They can take it back anytime.

  10. Don't get all uptight about those people who insist it's a certificate.  You have a license, and carry a certificate.  Look them up.  Driver's licenses for cars are mislabeled, as they say license on them.  It's actually a certificate, which is evidence that you have a license.

  11. hehe that was a good one :) But very true... FAA owns it, you just posses it, so dont p**s them off!!! :)
