Do you people actually care about the future of America?

I wondered into this section last night and the commentary here troubles me greatly. It seems that there a marked dearth of people who are actually engaging in intelligent debate about the issues, the problems that we face in this country and how we are going to solve them. It seems like everyone just wants to 'win' which means that we all lose. This isn't a football game, this is our country and our lives.

  1. you sad little man

  2. no not really, because many of them have become left wing loons, they are destroying America

  3. *frowns* Not too sure what you mean, you might want to clarify a bit more..... or reword it.

But we have to fix problems to get anywhere. Afterall, a faulty product won't sell.

And the person that commented earlier on everyone being sheep, IS SO NOT RIGHT. We have the ability to make as much money as we please if we try, we can become whatever we desire, we decide who gets the most power in our country, and every company trying to sell something caters to US. They change according to our tastes, not the other way around.

  4. I know you are a "top Contributor"  and maybe you think something is being accomplished here in Yahoo answers and that you are a big part of that.....

But, this is just another rant and rave site (period)  No one here is going to solve any problems and they aren't going to unite to solve any problems either.

  5. Yes, people do care about America, and those of us who do, DO something to show it. We have those serving in the military now who are the ultimate example of caring. The problem is there are those who only see the bad, its too easy to whine and complain and not do anything but that. We have a large section here that beleive they are "entitled" to things, and want the govt. to take care of them.

"ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Believe it or not a democrat once said that.

  6. There is absolutely NOTHING you can do about. We are all sheep with no power to change anything. So forget about it, and live your own life as best as you can, and then die.

  7. It's not that people don't care. They just don't really know what's going on. Many people only hear sound clips for their news and don't make it point to know what's going on around the world. Therefore, they take our country for granted. And they think freedom is free.

We're living in a "I want it now" society where people want a quick fix and a catch phrase.

  8. I care, but I'm only one voter with the wish that we get rid of politicians and elect people that could actually acknowledge their differences and come up with plans that make all sides happy.

No one wants to compromise anymore, and that's taking us nowhere fast.

  9. right now most of the world hate the U.S. But 2009's a brighter year, bush is out of office that year, Obama becomes president that year and you guys get out of iraq. were all happy!

  10. I'm not from America (from Australia), but everytime I seem to watch Opera or here George Bush talk it's always about America this and that, I mean fair enough but it's like they don't think about the "bigger picture" (the rest fo the world). I think that there are people out there that care and have lots of passion for their own countries but have no power to say or do anything and therefore seem to have no compassion. If we all just play our own part to try to help combat the problems the world is experiencing...I don't know what specific problems you're talking about..The use of recycycling water, clothes, plastic bags and other materials can be a good way to start changing our old habits. I don't think many people are actually aware that we have a major water crisis (here in Australia anyway). We are not allowed to water our lawns or wash our cars but yet people still do everyday. I hope people globally start to realise the need for change in the way things are carried out on a day-to-day basis..

  11. Yes, we are very interested on America. Our activists overthere are stiring up US working class , as this crisis makes US Proletariat a fertile ground.USA is epicenter of the world crisis.US Proletariat, that giant is waking up...

  12. Many Americans don't care about the future of America.  That's why we are going the way of the great civilizations of the world.  Babylon, Persia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, all fell from moral decay from the inside.

  13. You are absolutely right.  The smartest thing the two parties ever did was to make people believe that they had a mind of their own.  I'm so sick of seeing "vote Republican" or "vote Democrat".  Who cares what party they are.  They both have upsides and downsides.  We need compromise.  We need moderate politics.  People have their heads way too far up their butts to realize this.  And the more people call others "idiots" for having a different idea, the more those people look like idiots themselves.

    We need more moderate politics.

  14. Agreed.

I'm not sure you GET IT or you just think you do.

If you are talking about electing OBAMA - as the FUTURE of AMERICA being Brighter... then it's definitely the latter.

  15. yes i care about the future..that's why i'm reminding folks that at the point that Obama decided to run for president, he has only served 143 days, about 4 months, as a US senator...sorry folks,...that's not enough...end of conversation..unless you want to talk about "God d%mn America" or his ties to domestic terrorists or his ties to Louis Farrakahn, or his being raised muslim, or his marxist tendencies..
