  1. Yes.

Government is a necessary evil. It should be limited as much as possible. However it does have it's uses: national defense, common currency, etc. All the things our brilliant forefathers outlined in the Constitution. It would be nice if we followed it for a change.

  2. Personally not but socially yes. We all require guidelines/laws for social interaction and governments 'should' help uphold them. On a personal level I have lost confidence in what government stands for as propaganda and foreign affairs seem the only agenda worth pursuing for politicians while citizens struggle with rising costs, unemployment, crime and violence. Charity begins at home.

  3. the short answer: yes.

  4. The absence of a government is something that human nature instictively will not allow.

Every baby is born and instantly begins ruling its parent's lives.  That is a government.  Just ask the baby!

Living in a society without commonly known laws would leave every person who could improve life in any way too busy fighting to survive to invent anything.  It would degenerate into "Mad Max", and stay there.

  5. Mostly just for national defense.  Otherwise I want the government to buzz off.

  6. Nope, I'd be just fine if we went back to the old west...

Beckie P - Yeah right, because the government is doing such an outstanding job of lowering the crime rate already, eh? Puleeease.

  7. yes because there would always be some jerk out there that would be wanting to do something that is against the law or immoral, that is why government is there to make sure the laws are followed.

  8. yes

  9. Sure.

    Why not?

    Still need a shepherd.

To look after a flock of sheeps wandering in the fields.

In case they get lost and jump over the cliffs.

But not with cheap-skate ghostly stories on tribe with non-existence rights of original descendant and 30% equity rights off everything off the land in short-changing, conning and deceiving little children and tribes of different community in kicking them on their butts with self lack of knowledge.

Until they all live in misery with total loss of IQ like cave-men from the twilight zone in the 21st century.

Eerily wailing in ghostly kitchen's dialect with ghostly and deadly words from the graveyards of different ghostly ancestor's culture and custom.

In kicking the butts of God in not worshiping God.

All for cheap-skate glory as success of past glorious civilization in idol worshiping the dead Mummy from someone else graveyards with oppression and slavery as National Identity with self lack of knowledge in kicking everyone on the butts.

    What do you think?

  10. Without a government you'd have anarchy - no laws or organised society, you'd be left with confusion, disorder, no moral laws of conduct, no schools,...etc.

  11. I did not know we had one that exists

  12. Absolutely, the alternative is Marshall law.

Marshall law works for a short period of time, until you encounter a sociopath.   Much of society are sociopaths, and they have little or no regard for your welfare, nor your children's welfare if it means that they may gain something.

Sociopaths thrive in a Marshall law situation.  The innocent suffer.

    It's not a good thing.

Look at any anarchist society, and you'll see why it is so wrong.  It sounds good on paper, but simply doesn't work.

  13. No - it creates many more problems than it solves.

  14. No.  I don't use public schools, the police don't do anything but take my money, before the government took it over insurance companies provided fire fighting services, I do use public roads, but I also use private roads, and guess which ones are better? The USPS hemorrhages money, and so one person actually pays about $2 for every letter they send, despite the supposedly reasonable price of a stamp.  The government does nothing that a private company cannot do.

  15. Yes, because you can't exist where there is no government.

    That place doesn't exist.

  16. No, I don't rely on ANY  support from the government.  They only thing I would miss is my tax refund, but that 's about it...
