Do you place the same importance in cleaning your home for your relatives as you do friends?

I clean my house like crazy regardless on who comes over. It's better it be too clean than dirty and in shambles in my opinion. My problem is that my guests leave the house in shambles and much less than clean.

I clean harder for relatives. They are going to talk. As for friends, it is clean, but they can come as they want, or if not they can go. Relatives have to come at times and friends don't. So if my friends think it is okay, then I'm okay with it. Both friends and family leave my house a mess. You would think they would be a little more considerate.

I don't give a c**p who is coming over.  If they don't like my house however I have it, then they shouldn't bother coming over again, or keep their opinions to themselves.

My house is always clean..I clean up after each meal and the dishes are always done.  I scrub my floors every week and sweep the house every day.  Even if my friends or relatives are coming its' just normally clean but my house still looks like people live in it...my mother in law her house is immaculate it looks like a museum and I rarely visit because I am afraid i will sit in the wrong chair and mess up her pillows and it will not be perfect when I leave. When guest come and you clean immaculately and then its not clean when they leave its hard either visit them and don't invite them over or you have to just clean up when they come...a key to if your visitors have kids and you have kids and they all play together in a play room or in a kids room have them all clean up the room together before you go.  That helps if kids are involved.

i too am particular about cleanliness and my freinds do not visit me because of it, i think its because i make them feel uncomfortable i am always plumping up the cushions etc.... there is notthing wrong with being too clean..... carry on cleaning :):)
