Do you anticipate on purchasing the new PixOs toy from Spinmaster? I just saw the commercial for it today, and they advertise just like what the Aquadots set looked like. I work at a dept store and we got a lot of returns because of the recall, and a lot of customers said they don't anticipate on purchasing if the company re-releases the "safe" version,

  1. Yes I will buy them. I had sets for my grandchild and she loved them. I do not blame the company for what happened. It was a terrible thing to have taken place but I feel that there was tapering going on and it ruined the company. They should be given another chance and allowed to prove that they can make a safe product. I feel that they will be watching so no mistakes are made in the future.

  2. I will be purchasing this product.  Wikipedia has a comprehensive overview of this toy's history.  Specifically, "...replacement beads were available from March 2008 onwards, based on the interim ban being lifted.[20] The replacement beads will be manufactured using only approved ingredients. To discourage ingestion, the replacement beads will also be coated with the bitter-tasting substance known as Bitrex.[21] The name of the product was also changed from Bindeez to Beados in an attempt to extinguish the link between the recall of the old toy and the new toy.[22]".

  3. No. I had considered it previously, but hadn't bought the Aquadots before they were pulled from the market.

And there is a difference between the iron beads and PixOs/Aquadots. Aquadots are made with/coated by a substance that becomes sticky when wetted then dries, sticking the beads together. Think of them being little glue beads.

My child has had the ioron beads and those I have no problem with. The beads of colored glue? Definately not ever purchasing.

  4. I wouldn't....Spin Master made Aquadots, too.  They even used the same exact song.

  5. just looked it up on wikipedia....

heh, they look similar to something i had when i was a kid but it had to be ironed....

to be frank, any kid old enough to use something like that, that is stupid enough to swallow their toys would just be contributing to evolution by being given one of the poisonous sets

  6. don't even know what they are, so my answer would be "no".
