FullTiltPoker.COM is the real money site, and is one of the best sites out there.  PokerStars is another good site.  Full Tilt had issues with payouts recently, but recently resolved them with fantastic payouts by MoneyGram.  That is, Full Tilt will send the payout via MoneyGram, and you take a reference number, name, etc to a MoneyGram location (like at a Wal Mart or grocery store) and you pick up cash.  Poker Stars is probably the best and fastest at sending paper checks.

Both also take credit/debit cards, but it might be hard for you to deposit via this method if you are from the US.  What I recommend (and often do) is buy a Visa All Access brand prepaid card, which can  be found at grocery stores, drug stores, etc.  They do not have electronic filters like some credit/debit cards have that decline poker transactions.  Other prepaid cards have this filter too.  If you go to http://poker-lobby.com you will find a complete guide to online poker including reviews, bonus info, and other secure deposit/withdrawal tips.  Hope this helps.

I mainly play on Full Tilt and Poker Stars.  I play both real and occasionally (if it is late or I have been drinking) for play money.

I find them both to be completely trustworthy and I have never heard anything bad about them.

You should be aware that all the companies are forced to advertise the .net sites in the US, because Bush doesn't think we should be free to spend our money as we want to.  So the .net sites are play money only.  So always join the .com version of the same site where you can still play for play money, but also real money if you choose to.
