Do you prefer German or French? How to make my mom let me choose my language learning course?

I'm going to a school where you can learn a language at a class with Rosetta stone, and I want to pursue German, but my mom things its sounds ugly, but I love it, and I already know french because that's the second language we speak in our house, so I don't feel the need to learn it, So which one do you like better, and how do I convince her to let me choose my own language I want to learn.

Choose what you want because if you end up studying a language you don't want to you will not do well at it. If you are passionate about the language you are learning, it will go a lot smoother and quicker.

I prefer German, and am studying it in university. I'm not fluent but I love the power of the language. Yeah it isn't beautiful or gentle but it is very assertive and, to me, s**y.

Tell your mom the 1st part of what I said, that's true. Besides you are the one learning it, not her. It's up to you.
