  1. Princess, way better

  2. princess by far! my experiences with ncl were not the best.

  3. Norwegian. I like being able to eat when I wish. Princess may be fancier, but Norwegian has the freedoms I like. Depends on which dining hall you use. There are several. The main, fancy one can be a bit dicey to get a 2 seater in. But there are lesser halls that have plenty of seating. Just depends on what type of food you're in the mood for. :)

  4. Princess is better. NCL had people lining up on top of people and no one seemed to be in charge. Food was great on both lines but Princess was classier. Princess was a cleaner ship overall.

  5. Sounds like the same animal to me.  My experience is Norwegian.  You could get a table for 2 in the formal dining room but it might mean a long wait and you had a better chance if you made a reservation.  We found that the extra people was never a problem and it gave you some new faces to talk to.  Enjoy the cruise on either line and bon appetit.

  6. NCL definitely. We like the combination of being able to eat whenever we want and not have to make small talk with strangers when we don't want to. To the person who said NCL doesn't have tables for two - what ships have you been on? I've sailed the Dream, a small, older ship and the Star, a large, newer ship and both had plenty of tables for two. The longest we ever waited for a table was 10 minutes. Usually it was 2-3 minutes. The host would often ask if we minded sharing a table, but there was absolutely no problem when we usually said we would rather not.

We also liked all the alternative restaurants offered with Freestyle cruising.

  7. On NCL there are no tables for two, just because it is freestyle. It is nice to eat whenever you want, but I prefer to be at a large table so as to meet some of my fellow passengers, and to have the better restaurant experience. Princess food and services are better than NCL's. NCL tends to cut corners compared to Princess. You must also compare prices. I don't know your budget.
