I prefer cats. They are easier to train and do not make many messes. The only problem we have had was when my daughter got a baby chihuahua. Gizzy, my cat, does not like having another animal. She actually hisses and growls! Other than that, cats are loving, and like clean environments. I love having a cat more than a dog! The chihuahua is not training so easily!

i like dogs i respect cats u can dump a cat anywhere and they would be able to find food and shelter a dog you cant they would wonder around looking for the cat lol

We quite literally have a 50/50 representation in our household, and I think its more natural for me to love dogs, but once you fall for a cat, they have you wrapped around your little finger. We have three dogs, two indoor cats and a stray who has decided to live outside. She is just starting to warm up to us, and we are falling all over ourselves trying to do everything we can for her!  She is very typical cat....only comes when she wants something, but she did leave a dead mouse outside the door for us yesterday morning as a gift. Our other cats have been socialized with dogs, so they think they are dogs. They look out the windows at people coming toward the house and meow instead of bark, live in packs with the dogs instead of being natural enemies. We love them all, but the dogs do have a slight edge, because they love you no matter what.

i have always preferred dogs cause of all the tricks you can teach them cause of the protection i feel when i have a dog or two.  but my fiance is a cat lover and we also have 2 cats who are great also they cuddle well and you can hear them purr.  so personally i love dogs but cats are a very close 2nd
