Do you prefer male or female dogs?

From what I've observed, male dogs seem to be more mellow and playful. Is that the case for you guys too?

Actually that is.

All my life my family and I have owned all male dogs, it just seems like all my life i have grown up to warm up to male dogs quicker and over all better than female dogs.

Plus, my little male puppy likes to feel as if hes the man of the house; hahaa.

Dont get me wrong, i love female dogs, its just i havent really spent much time with a female dog as a male dog, and it always seems as though the male dogs come up to me and are a little bit more frisky and playfull than the female.

I prefer female dogs for the simple fact that they do not pee on everything in sight.  The female I have now was difficult to bond with, but now that we have bonded, I think it will be for life.

YES!  I've had both and I much prefer males.  Ours have been much more playful, and loveable, and goofier which is always hilarious!  They seem to want more attention from you than females, who sometimes prefer their independence a little more!

Also, I know one response above was that males tend to "hike and pee on everything" -- while that can be the case, our males are both 4 1/2 years old and still squat to pee!! LOL  they don't hike on anything!

Growing up my family always had female dogs as my mother did not want a male who lifted his leg.  But, I just happened to get a male as my first personal dog -- he was just the most engaging puppy in the litter.  

Since that day, I now go only for the Boys!!  They are great - loving, loyal, curious.  I have never had a dog that lifted his leg inside.  And, yes - the b*****s are called that for a reason!

Both have pros and cons.If I wasn't going to breed, ide go for a male.Once they are fixed (and not spotting everywhere) then they are a pleasure to have-more loving etc.

I heard that females get called "b*****s" for a reason! lol.When my female is pregnant, she is so loving and doesn't want me out of her sight.

yes i think males are more relaxed but females are less dominant

I prefer females because males tend to hike and pee on every thing in sight including your legs, and friends legs.

i like female dogs much better. they may not be as playful but i think they are more compassionate if that doesnt sound too silly.
