Aside from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales; do you, as a residant of England, prefer to be considered British or English.

I only ask this becuase in America, British and English are the same people, so what do you prefer?

  1. I'm English first and then British second

i prefer to be called English as it states where i come from on the Island of Britain

but i'm also proud to be British

  2. Either , i am proud to be both.

  3. British all da way!!

    English is to fancy!!

    lmao!

    XX

  4. I'm not that fussed ... I'm proud to be English but guess in reality I'm British because part of my ancestry is Scottish ... people outside our islands find this whole English, Scottish, British, UK thing utterly confusing and I guess I can't blame them ... when I was young we were all encouraged to think of ourselves as British, but these days nationalism and diversity is all in fashion ... over the centuries people have always moved around our islands (as well as much further afield) so genetically we're all (well, the vast majority of us anyway) very mixed ... so what's the point at getting at each other's throats when we're all long-lost cousins

  5. I'm English, (and therefore British, along with the Welsh and the Scots, but not the Irish, who are on a different island).

I don't tend to use British much.

The Scots and Welsh, even less so.

(I wonder: is it now most used by those British citizens who are not of English, Scottish or Welsh origin?)
