  1. For me it depends on the situation.

If I am trying to keep some one away I will use short snaps but if I want to pummel them and they are weakened a thrust is more of what I would use. Yes the hips add much more power and the user above is correct you can still use your hips in the snap as well for more power but not as much as a thrust.

    So to me it depends.

  2. If you can put your body weight behind the kick and able to use your hip to generate power, even a fast Snapping side kick can generate just as much power with a fraction of the time. which can be use for counter attack with your front leg. The Trusting side kick is more powerful, but it can be a bit slower, which you use as an attacking technique in your combinations.of attacks. Both kicks have different purposes.

  3. when the h**l did these "wulf fan" accounts appear?  i've ben gone from here too long.  Although i'd somewhat agree with wulf on this one

i tend to prefer using thrust kicks myself.  its just the way i fight, or rather don't  :P  i normally keep my side kicks for when i'm retreating.

Run away, suden stop and thrust a side kick into them, they NEVER stop in time, and they almost never dodge, If you try a snap in that situation you get knocked off balance. hence why thrust is better, the push going their way somewhat offsets the force they're pusing against you.

Snaps have their place too, but only for getting them to keep their distance imo, Where i tend to duck in and out of close range, these really only give me an opening to jump into their close range.

  4. Quick snap to the balls.
