  1. Yes, although you may want to have it in a seperate section than your paid work experience so potential employers can quickly and easily see the difference.


  2. Definitely.  Employers look at that stuff, a lot of schools recommend doing volunteer work because it looks good on a resume because you are not getting paid to do it

  3. Absolutely! For instance, you may have no leadership experience in your paid work, but you may have such in your volunteering. You may not use computers at all in your paid work, but you may have extensive experience in your volunteering. Putting volunteering on your resume fills out your skills and experience that a potential employer will find attractive.

    Your volunteering experience should be listed like your paid work: name of the organization, dates you volunteered there, what your responsibilities were, what training you received, and any special accomplishments achieved through your volunteering.  You can include references from your volunteering experience as well.

  4. absolutely!! it shows any extra experience you have  and caring for your community.
