Do you put texture additive in the paint or the primer?

The stuff you buy in a bag to add to paint to "sand" texture your drywall.

  2. I put it in the paint. It worked out good.

  3. You said it in your statement under the question, it adds to the paint. If you added it to the primer, your texture will be more subdued by the covering of the paint.

    I think I would place it in the PAINT.....

    According to the links below and especially the latter one it is stated "paint"....

    For what your are trying to accomplish I would prefer to place in the paint instead of the primer.

    The best way to look at this would be to test each theory.

    In Paint.... Then in Primer..... Test on small surface and see as to which seems to be the better result.

  5. I've done this and the paint department at Home Depot said it goes in the paint

  6. put it in the primer so you won't have raw texture "flatting" out on you when you do the finish coat
