I bought this little 4-wheeler "Cougar 110cc" ATV at an auction for my kids. I checked the oil and it was full, so we've been riding it a couple of days.

Today, there was a little plastic s***w that came off the engine on the side where the foot shifter is at. I think it's a hole into the transmission. When I looked in there, I was surprised to see it bone dry. I had assumed the oil I had checked on the other side went clear through.

Do I put transmission fluid or oil into the compartment near the foot shifter, or do I leave it dry? It doesn't say in the book that came with it.

  1. The Cougar engine is a generic Honda 4 stroke copy that has combined engine and transmission oil.  The oil fill and level check are on the right side of the engine.  That's all there is.
