  1. I put it in at the beginning too.  It might well be that you're just so used to the scent you dont notice it any more!  Try swapping to another brand for a while and see if you notice.

  2. I put mine in the little compartment marked for it. The machine then adds it automatically at the correct point in the cycle.

  3. I use a Downy ball. They open in the rinse cycle

  4. Conditioner should go in during the rinse cycle.  That's when an automatic feeder in washers will put it.

Downey® made a gizmo called the Downey Ball that you would fill correctly and put it in with the clothes.  During the first spin cycle, just before the rinse cycle starts filling with rinse water, a weight on the fill plug of the ball gets pulled aside and opens the ball.  The softener then mixes with the rinse water and gets agitated into the clothes.  I have used one and it works fine.

It sure beats having to babysit the washer or having all your softener washed out at the start.

  5. yes at the start, but never when washin towels because that takes the softness  out of them

  6. Maybe you need to get a better softner :)

  7. I usually wash them, then add the fabric softener when it's in the rinse cycle. It makes your clothes smell a whole lot better.

  9. I have this problem with mine all my washing had no smell of conditioner so now I wait until about 10 or 20 mins into the cycle. Think mines's has a slight fault because it was taking the washing powder and conditioner all in at the same time at the beginning of the wash and it shouldn't. So rather than buy a new washing machine, I wait to put it in the conditioner. Sometimes I do forget though which is a nightmare.

  12. For some reason, the fabric conditioner seems to be dispensed into the clothes before the final rinse if you put it in early. I don't usually use a fabric conditioner, especially in the Summer when you can peg the washing out if you have sole garden access. However, when I dry the clothes indoors, if I use fabric conditioner, I always put it in the dispenser towards the end of the washing cycle, just before the final rinse. This works.

  13. i put mine in at the start all my washing smells of conditioner i used concentrate

  14. Unless you have a fabric softener dispenser, put it in during the rinse cycle or use a fabric softener ball.
