Question:

Do you rats like the little exploring tunnels?

I was looking for little things for my rats to play with and that could be used at different times for my ferret. I was thinking that the little tunnel things (Plastic or the other thing they use, just not fabric) you can find at Petsmart would be good. Any thoughts or comments? And what other toys would you suggest? Thanks in advance.

  1. I had rats, and they enjoyed tunnels. Also, bird toys were a hit with them. Just make sure they can't chew anything dangerous or escape while they're not being watched.

  2. It's actually a natural instinct for rats to tunnel so yes, you certainly can buy plastic tunnels. Here's what I do, I go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy those white PVC pipes that are big enough for a rat to go through...they usually cost me only about 2 or 3 dollars, and my rats love them. Goodluck!

  3. I bought some Plastic tubing used in plumbing, and its too hard for them to chew, i have 9 guinea pigs (almost like ferrets?) not really but they come in different sizes and are big enough to sleep in, crawl through...everything. But They are like 90 cents for a huge one, unlike the ones at a pet store that are more, you can get one at any hardware store.

  4. They absolutely enjoy tunnels!

Although, if you're going to do that, you should go to a hardware store and buy PVC pipe. It's much cheaper than anything you'll find at a pet store, so you can get more of it and make more tunnels!

They also love cardboard forts and things they can climb all over. :]
