  1. i dont recycle

  2. Hello,

(ANS) YES! I think on balance I probably do recycle more than I did 12mths ago because our council has introduced green wheeli bins for materials that can be recycled. So its definitely MUCH easier to recycle these days.

**BUT I have been recycling most of my house hold waste for well over 30years, I started way back in the 1970's before climate change & global warming was ever talked about.

  3. yes i do.

  4. Yes. We have now got two recycling boxes for our local curbside collection scheme.

  5. No, I have recycled pretty much everything I can for 20 years.  I just toss paper, plastic, and metal into the bin and the recycling people come around every Tuesday and pick it up.  No fuss, no bother.

  6. I definitely recycle more because I now live in a more sensible country than the UK. I now reside in Thailand and the prossess over here is that every body gets paid to recycle. every house hold collects all of their plastics, bottles, paper, cardboard, and cans. A local lady makes it her job to come around and purchase all these materials from every body and then takes them to a government yard where she gets a reward for them. One day my wife went crazy with me for throwing a can in a dustbin, she was in there like a shot to retreave it. In thailand I would say that at least 95% of recyclable waste gets recycled. In the UK you have to pay the council to take it away. Another case of rip off Britain

  7. Yes, I moved and my new city has many more options and takes a lot more recyclables at the curb!  I have also taken a blue kitchen bag to work with me and collect all the empty bottled water containers.  While I don't support drinking bottled water I do recycle their bottles for them.  My office only recycles paper.

  8. Yes I do, since my local refuse collector provides me with three "wheeley bins"

A green bin for paper/cardboard, aluminum/steel cans and plastic bottles.

A brown bin for kitchen and garden waste.

A black bin for non recyclables.

I also take the glass bottles to the "bottle bank"

However I am very concerned about the costs of recycling. please see the question

WHAT ARE THE ENVIRONMENTAL COSTS OF RECYCLING?

  9. yes!  I recycle everything I possibly can and our city continues to improve it's recycling program.  www.earth911.org is also a great resource for finding information on recycling in your local area.

  10. yes , it has been made easier to do it now.......

  11. Yes definitely, I find it very satisfying.  Loads of stuff I once thought of as merely rubbish is  recyclable

  12. No

  13. About two years ago my city (Raleigh, NC) expanded the types of items they collect in the curbside recycling service.

Originally they just took cans, glass bottles, newspaper and only certain types of plastic.  Now they take cardboard/paperboard, cartons, office/computer paper, paper grocery bags and just about all major types of plastic.

The difference was very noticeable...my recycling bin fills up much faster than the trash can!

  14. Yes, our local recycling site has just started to accept yoghourt pots and plastic bottle lids - yippee!

  15. well no because there wasnt much i could recycle since I stopped buying bottled water and beverages and just drink tap water.  And I use paper wisely so although I didnt recycle much, I reduce my use which is always way better than recycling.

  16. Yes, we recycle about 85% of what we use in my home.

  17. No much the same i have done for years.

  18. Yeah I do, I recycle all my cardboard, paper, cans and plastic bottles which means I generally only produce only 1 or 2 black bags of rubbish every week, a vast improvment when I think I used to just chuck everything out. Only thing that annoys me is that there is no facilities to recycle things like yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, plastic tops, etc, surely they can think of a way to recycle this stuff too.

  19. Yeah...I have an extra 2 orange bags a week than I did a year ago....it's teaching the kids what goes in the bin and what goes in the recycling bag.  I still have to go in the bin occasionally to dig out the odd can or milk carton and rinse it though!=]

  20. Yes but bags are still a bit of a problem.  I tend to put everything that resembles a plastic bag into my supermarket's recycling bag bin but I suspect they dump them..... :-(

  21. Yes, and much more aware of green issues.

  22. yes a lot more

  23. No, I've been recycling for decades.

  24. Yes, but I would recycle much more if there was a way of doing it locally. The council is very restrictive in the type of plastics that it will take for example.

But more annoying is the amount of households that can't be bothered and only put out black bags. Time to charge them for the privilege!

  25. YES my mum buys more stuff cuz my cousin now lives with me for 5 days so yeah.
