  1. its totally waste of space on the newspaper, but help your self to p3?

  2. Yes i do and I wish that the powers that be would read them and take notes!!

  3. Yes..for the same reason as Mrs GC! There could be 20 letters published but they are written by two mad people!!! But that's the local press, the best was when the paper ran a 'name and shame' on roads with the most dog poo..it ran for months.

I've read a few in the broadsheets that have made me think again or question things further but they have been few and far between.

PS-I'd like to thank the person who handed in my bus pass to Farm-Foods....lol.

  4. Yes , many times to our Local Paper. I get so mad and upset when I read the news in it sometimes.  It keeps you going and there are many times I get praised which is very nice, as I voice my thoughts of what is happening in my City.We all have our opinions, and I think we have the right to express what yours is.Anyway it keeps your brain intact, and its fun..... dont you think ? it is good to write letters. !

  5. I don't think i have that section in my newspaper :-(

  6. sometimes i do, if its about anyting intresting

  7. Yes, it's my favourite part of the paper. have you noticed that the interesting ones are at the bottom right-hand corner and the boring ones at the top left-hand corner?

  8. To be honest we dont have a daily newspaper we only have the local weekly rag which is full of WI news and Council scandal. We get our news from either the internet or TV, the rubbish that is published in the press is one of the reasons we dont subscribe. However now winter is coming again we will need paper to light our fires so we often ask people for their read ones.

  9. Hi there.

yes, I read the letters and they do quite often make more sense than the article they refer to. All part of the mix, to my mind.

    Regards, Steve.

  10. I always read them

Not because they influence me at all but because there's this crazy old man who writes in there every week complaining about something,

then the week after you'll people writing in in response to his letters

It's like a mini soap opera

  11. Avidly. The general public often have a far more realistic idea of current affairs than journalists.
