Question:

Do you realise it works both ways?

I notice that a lot of Manchester United fans seem to think only Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres from Liverpool would get into their team. Firstly that's not anywhere near the truth, but I won't go into that for now.

But I can say exactly the same about United. Only Patrice Evra and Cristiano Ronaldo would get into Liverpool's team in my eyes. I'd take Reina over van der Saar every time, Finnan is twice the player of either Neville or Brown, Carragher beats any of United's CBs and neither Ferdinand or Vidic have anything Agger and Skrtel don't. With a central midfield of Alonso, Mascherano and Gerrard none of United's midfielders would get in our team either, and with Babel and Barry we would have no need for Giggs on the left. Up front Tevez and Rooney would struggle to get in ahead of Keane and Torres...well, there's no need to say anything about Torres is there.

I know a lot of you will look towards the easy way out by saying "We won the double so there!" but there are other factors in football, which United have got right and Liverpool haven't. But when it comes to squad strength, United have nothing Liverpool haven't got.

Q: If Liverpool had Alex Ferguson as their manager the last 15 years, how many titles would they have won by now?

  1. This is total biased liverpool dribble.

Comparing Giggs to Babel? Are you insane?

You do realise Giggs has set so many records no one can keep count?

And for Carragher and Skrtl, you're completely retarded if you think they come anywhere near Vidic and Ferdinand, Finnan's rated by Liverpool at like one million.

Also I don't know who says Gerrard would make our team, because frankly I don't see how he'd have room.

With Anderson bossing him at Anfield, who is below Carrick, Hagreaves and Scholes.

Torres would probably be slightly ahead of Tevez, though.

Seriously man, grow up and stop being biased.

  2. The question is, If we assume that the players are equal (a debatable issue,  [understatement] but not the question at hand), then is the domination of ManU for the last 15 years attributable to Sir Alex Ferguson? And, if we hypothetically moved SAF to Liverpool, would the titles follow?

    Answers:  Yes and Probably.

In a given year, 2, 3 or 4 of the Big Four are equal in talent overall. What makes one the Champion over the others? Maybe it is the presence of the scorer who just will not be denied... Henry, Drogba, Ronaldo.  Maybe it is some other soccer factor like tactics, scouting, player management... Maybe it is something weird like being healthy or eating right before the big match...

That is a year by year, or game by game analysis, but looking at Premier League Champions over the last 15 years, the only constant, among all the variables, is the presence of Sir Alex.  He has won 10 of the last 16!! Hard to argue with that statistic.

To say if SAF were hypothetically at Liverpool during this time, the results would have been the same gets a bit iffy.  Whatever this magic that Alex carries around, is it connected to Manchester United somehow? Or would it go with him if he were to be transplanted to another of the Big 4?  It seems the best answer is: it would probably go with him..

  3. First things first, one thing that I strongly disagree with is this:

"But when it comes to squad strength, United have nothing Liverpool haven't got."

Man Utd squad is far more stronger than Liverpool's is.That is why Sir Alex can afford to rest some of his big players when they're tired;he's got quality players to replace them. That is why Benitez's rotation policy failed so miserably last season.

And as for Keane think both Rooney and Tevez are better than him.Torres,I accept is truly world class.

Most of these comparisons have more than a slight hint of bias to them(which is understandable considering its you who made them). You're a Liverpool fan and are bound to favour your own teams players(the same way I would favour United players).

FQ:You can be sure it wouldn't have been zilch.

  4. i'm sure you are right, and thats the great thing about this game its full of peoples opinions, my simple advice to you is never manage a football team, how could you omit vidic from any premiership team is beyond me, and as far as robbie keane is concerned when did he become one of the worlds best strikers.

  5. No easy way out here, but I must say that this is all subjective and I personally think (in my subjective opinion) that any team that wouldn't welcome a player like Vidic (regardless or who they have) or Tevez (even if he's not an everyday starter) is more than a bit biased. But hey perhaps I am too.

Bottom line for me is that I would keep my squad with perhaps with one addition and that would be either Torres or Babel. You can keep your squad especially Reina as I will take VDS any day of the week.

Q: If he scouted the right way and obviously United wasn't a factor, then I suppose SAF would have given you at least 5 titles by now.

  6. Man Utd+Liverpool

GK-van der Sar/Reina they're both the same level

    RB-Finnan

    CB-Carragher

    CB-Vidic

    LB-Ferdinand(Can play as LB)

    RM-Ronaldo

    CM-Gerrard

    CM-Alonso

    LM-Babel/Nani

    RS-Torres

LS-Tevez/Keane/Rooney(Can do the Benitez and rotate)

Possibly:4-8-Liverpool 3-7-Manchester United players could make it on

---But I have to admit, either you're very biased, or very stupid to say Agger and Skrtel can compare to Ferdinand and Vidic

FA:The same or more than Man Utd

  7. your emplying that liverpool have a better team than united and it is just up to the manager that makes united better, wot a load of rubbish!

your midfield is better nd thats about it. im a spurs fan and il accept that keane is no real talent compared to tevez or rooney!!

  8. Whos rattled your cage today mate!!!

Fergie at Liverpool is only wishful thinking on your part!

  9. cool entry.. it really is one of a kind.

but i really would not want to trade fergie for benitez, man..

his rotation system suck big time & my liverpool friends even said that themselves!

  10. I strongly disagree, but I'm glad to see you are a fan of Evra.

The second question is a bit funny - last 15 years would mean that United had already built the team that won the Premier League for the first time and had all the kids like Beckham, Neville and Scholes waiting in the wings. Whether Liverpool would have been able to compete with that team even with Fergie in the managers seat is debatable.

If Fergie had instead taken over at LFC rather than United in 1986, then I'd imagine that they'd have taken most of the trophies that United have won since then and now instead. They've certainly had as much money for the transfers as United have had under Ferguson.

Such a shame you had Souness instead...

  11. Hmmm yes it does work both ways and I will show you how exactly only those 2 players getting into the United team has some truth about it!

    Van der Sar

    Evra

    Ferdinand

    Vidic

    Brown

    Giggs/Nani

    Scholes

    Carrick/ Hargreaves

    Ronaldo

    Rooney

    Tevez

Now van der sar and Reina are pretty similiar in ability so VDS=Reina

    Therefore NO change

    Evra>Aurelio all day long

Now as a partnership Vidic and Ferdinand>Carragher and Skrtel/Agger

    Proof: Best defence in league

Maybe in time as a partnership Carra and co. will be better

    Brown> or = Finnan

Proof: Finnan couldn't even get into the Liverpool team last year(after his injury) and Brown had a magnificent season last season! Finnan'f best days are behind him!

    Giggs/Nani>Babel

At the moment yes, Babel has underperformed at Liverpool and has been a real disappointment, in time he may better Giggs/Nani...Not now!

Scholes<Gerrard: At the moment Gerrard is better but Scholes is much older and his best days are too gone! I'd love to compare them when Scholes was in his hay day...different result then!

Carrick/Hargreaves=Mascherno: Little difference in truth Masch is better defending but gives nothing in attack, Carrick the opposite! Hargreaves does a bit of both

Ronaldo>Kuyt: Only just I'd say!! lol

Tevez > Keane: So far, Keane yet to really play at Liverpool!

    Rooney<Torres: Easily Torres

    Therefore the team:

    VDS

    Evra

    Vidic

    Ferdinand

    Brown

    Giggs/Nani

    Scholes

    Gerrard

    Ronaldo

    Tevez

    Torres

    Proof is in the pudding

EDIT: You better believe we will. The truth hurts and you know it! Some people seem to agree with what I'm saying, which I am not seeing for your opinions! How does it feel to be outnumbered!! If my opinion is rubbish what have Liverpool won with that team to prove my theory wrong?

EDIT 2: Haha Tp mate you couldn't be further from the truth!! First off you ain't hurt me! Your opinion, no matter how biased, non sensical and daft it is, is at the end of the your opinion! However I think you will see 5 people agree with me to you disagreeing! 5-1 is not bad! You can't please everybody! We will never agree when it comes to defending our clubs, its only natural! Now my answer has been described by you as being "garbage"! lol Really? Well I have facts to back up my points i.e. our success last season! You, as yet, have NO evidence to back up the points you make! Therefore you're points carry little credibilty and little weight! Have a good day! ;);)

  12. interesting but your never know the answer 0/15 why torture yourself........

  13. Thank heavens for small favours, Fergie would probably have turned down a move to Anfield anyway. And no, its not being biased, but saying Skertel willl get in ahead in Vidic is tripe...
