In reference to all the people who answered this question with "they should have used b.c"

In a perfect world, birth control works 100% of the time. In this world, it doesnt.

Also, how many of you really think you are entitled to tell someone else how to live? And if so, are you going to financially support that life you choose for them?

  1. I'm living proof that birth control isn't 100%.  I am pregnant now, and the child was conceived whilst I was on birth control pills.

  2. I always try to keep an open mind for the "grey" areas in life, but when I look at pictures of aborted fetuses, I can't help but think that something's wrong.  It just hurts to see that.

  3. Of course, then, it could be said that, because birth control is not 100% effective, people who choose to have s*x should know that it might result in a baby.

I personally, am pro-choice.  I know that accidents can happen.  And, I want every child to be *wanted* by a parent who's ready to take on the responsibility of parenting.  I do feel that adoption is the best choice, when possible and a parent knows that they cannot give the child what they need.  But, it's not always possible for the mother to go through with the pregnancy.  That's a choice that she and the child's father will have to make together & live with for the rest of their lives.

I know that no one goes into abortion or adoption with a light heart.

But, I do agree, though - that blaming the 99% effective birth control for an unwanted pregnancy is a cop-out.  It's not taking responsibility for your own choice to trust that you would not be in the 1% where it wasn't effective.

  4. So what you are saying is that....

we should just skip the bc because it doesnt work 100% of the time and just rely on abortions?

  5. no never read the packs the only 100% is a condom   its so unlikely to rip if put on corectly

  6. The question you reference was a poll asking if people were against abortion.  So people are entitled to give their opinions if they are for or against it.

Most birth control is 99% effective if you use it properly.  When people say "I was on the pill when I got pregnant" - its usually because they were not taking the pill as prescribed.  You have to take it religiously at the same time every single day for it to work.  Trust me, I know, as my third child was a result of me taking my pill about 5 hours late (which worked out great, we always wanted three anyways).

I am not entitled and would never tell people how to live.  But if a poll asks if ME personally is against abortion, then I will state my opinion - which is if you choose to have s*x, you are choosing to risk getting pregnant.  Taking birth control properly greatly reduces the risk of getting pregnant.  And if you do get pregnant, you should take responsibility for your choice.  I do not believe in abortion because its "inconvenient" to have a child.  When there is a will, there is a way.

  7. You are right. I was on the contraceptive pill when I became pregnant with my daughter. But I already knew that it was never 100%

  8. nothing is 100% ..this much is true, but when used properly, they are so close to 100% there is little reason to worry.there  are WAY too many children born today that are unplanned for me to even begin to believe that they are all or even mostly due to failure of properly used birth control.sure , a few are, there are exceptions for everything, but theres no need to even pretend that most of them are happening during proper birth control.

and just for the record, abortion is not a form of birth control in my opinion, so that question has very little do do with birth control. birth control PREVENTS pregnancy, not  terminates it.

  9. I agree with you. But at the same time Birth Control with the Pill and a Condom is called a Preventive Measure and if you're going to meddle in s*x you got to educate yourself and prevent things you are not ready for.

  10. No one is telling anyone else how to live. You choose your own path and lead it but when it comes to children I think that women should have the choice to keep a child or not as I see too many children being abused and mistreated in this world. I think an abortion is much better than a life lead being beaten, starved, raped, etc.

  11. It works close to 100% of the time when used properly.  Skipping birth control pills is not using it properly.  Pulling out is not an effective form of birth control.  99.9% of people who get pregnant either wanted to or didn't care....and if you don't use birth control you don't care.

  12. also birth control don't work when on antibiotics either and not all women can take birth control I am one of the few who can not take them also my tubes are not tied and I have been with my husband for 13 years and have two children witch both of them were planed and our course of birth control is a condom and it has worked for us so it each there on type of birth control I just think unless you are trying to get pregnant you should use some type of protection via it condom, birth control, the deproshot, spermicide or some type method have a good day I have spoke my two cents on this issue

  13. RE>>And if so, are you going to financially support that life you choose for them?>>
