yes because its the best championship in all of sports and hockey is the best sport around

and no because even though i am rooting for the Penguins i wouldnt really be crushed or anything if the Red Wings won mainly because my team didnt even make the playoffs i think it would be a whole different story if the Sabres were in the playoffs

Yes every year i care.

Honestly though, I don't watch other series if my team is out. It makes the pain 1000000000 times worse. But i always tend to tune into the stanley cup finals (near the end of the series) to see who is holding that cup.

This is one of the best finals in recent history. The Red Wings were the best team from the regular season and have been incredible throughout the whole course of the season. The Penguins are a team with some exciting young talent, but they lack Detroit's experience. It is traditional greats against the rising young guns of the Penguins. It is going to be a great, fast paced series. It is going to be a thrill to see who comes away with it.

I do because I love hockey, but I would be much more happy if the 2008-2009 Stanley cup championship Sharks were still in the running.

But I will just have to wait for them to win till next year. And hope Detroit chokes again this year. because I just don't want to here my friend going on about the wings winning the cup again.

yes, its such an intreaguing matchup, the young guns of the pengs vs. the perenial power of the redwings...whenever a matchup like this happens in any sport, sportsfans everywhere are pulled into it because of the circumstances.

Probably not as much as had the San Jose Sharks been the one representing the western conference.  Then again, who wouldn't be pumped/excited if their team made the Cup Finals.

Nevertheless, its still a pretty interesting Cup Final.  Plenty of intrigue, plenty of storylines, and plenty of superstars.  Experience vs Youth, Lidstrom/Rafalski vs Crosby/Malkin, will DET win their 11th Cup?  Will Osgood get another Cup as a starter to possibly nudge him in the HOF?  Is Crosby ready for the grandest stage of them all?  I'm pretty stoked and can't wait for them to drop the puck tomorrow.  Hopefully the JOE will be a full house cuz there's nothing like a packed arena in a playoff hockey game!

Yes even though my flyers are eliminated by the pens i want to see the young guns against the powerhouse wings. This is a great series waiting to happen and i think the wings will win it but the pens will give them a battle.
