okay...so im obsessed with makeup (mainly shopping for it!) but im deffinatly not even close to being able to afford dior, chanel, lancome, etc....mainly because their makeup products are really expensive...but why? is it because they are really good? or is it just because of the designer names? do you think covergirl is just as good?

which one would you get and why?

  1. i think that a lot of designer products are just overpriced. eyeshadow is eyeshadow and I don't think that the quality will change very much. dior is probably better, but not by much.  besides cover girl has great products and are well respected (its not like u can get it at the 99 cent store) so if cover girl is what u can afford, go for it. i use their eye shadows and wouldn't switch to dior even if i could afford it. if u are good at applying it  then you'll look great either way.

  2. they are just as good at walmart

you could get the same exact stuff for a way higher price at a brand name store

stick with walmart, because when i couldnt go to walmart and i tried going to cvs and sephora

i got these overpriced mascaras that really suck

i personally love maybelline it works the best

but next on my list would be covergirl and rimmel

  3. things like chanel is definatly better, but covergirl can also work. it probably has to do alot with the name too though. but i dont like covergirl cuz the eyeshadow dosent stay on but the mascara is alright. a little better than covergirl though is revlon and rimmel. i personally like MAC because the pigments and its great quality. i think a big difference is how long it stays on for and how pigmented the color is. but a primer is great to help all make up stay on long. it really comes down to how much u really wanna spend!

i would buy neither of those. cuz heck no am i spending that much on the dior, i rather go to MAC

  4. Designer makeups are usually all name. Even some drug store products are overpriced for their quality. Rommel makes really awesome eyeliners and are worth the price however their eyeshadow really sucks. Maybelline has really good mascara, way better than more expensive brands I've used. I don't like any cover girl products except their brow and eyemakers in soft brown for my eyebrows. Wet and wild lipstick is just as good as the more expensive lipsticks in my opinion, except for revlon colorstay matte ones. It's all about knowing which companies are the best at specific items. The only thing I don't use drug store brands for is my bare minerals foundation and blush and urban decay eyeshadow primer potion because they are the best on the market and well worth their price to me. This stupid iPod touch thing won't let my edit up at the top, I meant Rimmel not Rommel. I hate this predictive text. Anyway I also wanted to say that max factor and milani eyeshadow singles are also really good and available at drug stores.

  5. well, sometimes the saying can be true.

but for the designer makeup, not always.

alot of the drugstore brands work just as well.

  6. please. do not waste your money on these over priced designer department store brands. i used to buy both, and can honestly say there is no real difference from the makeup you buy at walmart except the name. covergirl in my opinion is one of the best drug store makeup brands out there. and also its ridiculous to buy a pencil eyeliner for $20 bucks no matter how good it claims to be...im good with that.
