I was reading the job requirements for air traffic controller, and it said under 31 years of age to be considered for a license.

Does that mean you're discharged once you turn 31 or do you just have to be 30 or under to start?

  1. Yes, you have to be under 31 to be hired as an air traffic controller in the US.  The mandatory retirement age is the last day of the month in which you turn 56.

The reason given is that the skills necessary to be an air traffic controller decline with age.
