Do you really have to pull your wisdom tooth or is the dentist just saying that it is really bad when it is not a big problem cause my wisdom teeth or any other teeth dont hurt. Are the dentists just doing it for money?

  1. They need to if they're affecting the way your other teeth are growing, like if they are impacted

  2. no.  they come out, the army pulls everyones out and for free, so obviously the dentists here aren't doing it for money!

  3. it depends.

if your mouth is too small for them, they will have to pull them to save your other teeth.

but i know a few people that the dentists said they could keep their wisdom teeth without having to worry about over-crowding.

  4. If they're impacted (sideways), then can push all your other teeth out of alignment, making your smile horrible.

As other people mentioned, they can cause overcrowding. They can also be hard to brush with a toothbrush, resulting in cavities/infection.

All in all, if you can afford it or if your insurance covers it, it's a good idea to get them out.

  5. i think in most cases they need to come out. mostly due to overcrowding and whatnot. however, im 26 and have all four of mine still with no problems. i do think that a lot of times dentists are after your dollars.
