Question:

Do you really lose your virginity when you use a tampon?

I'm a swimmer and my period gets in the way a lot. Every month, I have to skip practise because of my periods. I can't use a pad and I've heard that if you use a tampon, it breaks the thin hymen inside of you, thus dubbing you a non-virgin. Is this true?

  1. Like every one else said, you lose you virginity when you have s*x.  But, chances are slim you'll break your hymen when you use a tampon.  Get the slender tampons.

  2. The first time you have s*x is when you lose your virginity.

Your hymen can break before then from exercise, tight clothes, and yes wearing tampons.

  3. your hymen may break,in other words your cherry may pop.

but you're still a virgin.the only way you can loose your virginity is by having s*x

  4. you have only lost your virginity if you have engaged in sexual intercourse with somebody

the hymen breaking is just that, it doesnt mean anything.

hymen can break if youre a ballet dancer or if you stretch a lo, you dont have to have s*x for it to happen.

but no, if you use a tampon and the hymen breaks but you have not had s*x in your whole life, you are still a virgin

  5. Your hymen has nothing to do with your virginity.  You cease to be a virgin when you have s*x-period.

  6. no ur still a virgin if u use a tampon you only lose ur virginity when u have intercourse

  7. yeah its true

  8. Yes very much so...

Sticking a tampon up inside of you will definitely brake something that would consider you as a virgin.

  9. In my opinon, you are a virgin until you have s*x.  Having an intact hymen can mean you're a virgin, but not having one doesn't mean you're not a virgin.  In most athletes, the hymen breaks just from physical activity, anyway.  I wouldn't worry about it.

  10. no u will still be a virgin...virgininity is not a physical thing its a mind thing

  11. As I have learned over the years and talking with my doctor the answer is no. Your hymen stays intact. Tampons are much smaller. You would have to use more than one to break it. I don't think thats possible though. I started using tampons when I was 15 and cheerleading. So I can understand where you are coming from. I asked my doctor before I started using them though. For the just in case factor. not just that but tampons are not for everyone especially with toxic shock. hope it helped.

  12. it mite pop ur cherry (hopefulley u know wat that means) but then again it mite not so it depends

  13. you can if it rips your hymen- the tissue in the v****a that rips when you have s*x.

  14. NO!

    It's such a myth.

Having s*x is something to do with a male/female

and they have to have a p***s or v****a.

  15. Using a tampon doesn't mean you loose your virginity just like not having an intact Hyman doesn't mean you're not a virgin.  The only way to not be a virgin is to have intercourse.  There is no way around it.

  16. it's possible that it will break your hymen

but that does not mean you aren't a virgin

you're only not a virgin when you have s*x

    meaning a man's p***s goes in your v****a

    nothing else counts

also, the hymen is not inside of you

it is at the opening of your v****a

so don't listen to the people who are like "oh the tampon isn't

long enough to even reach your hymen"

***there is this thing called a menstrual cup

it's like a little flexible silicon cup that you put in your v****a to catch the blood

i've never used one but apparently they are safer than tampons and you can leave them in for longer

  17. Lol Wow thats a dumb question you basically asked did I lose my viginity to a tampon lol and obviosly the answer would be NO

  18. The status of virginity is whether or not you've had s*x, it has nothing to do with the hymen. Hymens break all the time from stuff like exercise or strenuous activity, etc. It doesn't change a thing really, except that if you break your hymen early, your first time might not be as painful.

  19. no, you can break the hymen riding a bike!

thats got nothing to do with virginity.

A virgin is someone that hasn't had s*x.

However you can test if someone is a virgin if they still have the hymen, but heaps of girls lose it in completely random incidences such as bikeriding, so its very unreliable and i doubt used very much anymore.

Anyway no, you are still a virgin until you have s*x

  20. okay, well, that's not what it means at all. a virgin by definition is someone who hasnt had s*x, not someone who's used a tampon...a lot of girls hymen breaks when they play sports anyway, so it really doesn't mean a lot.

  21. It's not true. You're still virgin until you have intercourse with a partner of your choice. Also, I doubt that a tampoon is long enough to break the hymen without the force that  a male's gential does when he 'thrusts' into you.

  22. No. Unless you repeatedly jab your v****a with a super sized one, you won't lose your virginity. You need to read the package, it will explain everything.

  23. It can break the hymen, but so can rigorous sports, etc.

You're still a virgin, however, because you've never had s*x with a guy.  Until then, you still have your virginity.
